1,720 square feet
Type: Houses
Theme: Tranquility in the Country
This small building, a studio and guest accommodations, is an “addition” to a modest old house 300 feet to the north. An existing line of trees connects the two and defines the walk between them. Our composition is of three architectural volumes connected in a complex massing, each made distinct by subtle differentiation in detailing and cladding, and their access and relationship to the sloping site and a stone wall. Red shingle and clapboard contrast with white trim and black roofs to unite the volumes.
