21c Museum Hotel Lexington transforms the historic Fayette National Bank Building, designed in 1914 by renowned New York architects McKim, Mead & White. The Beaux Arts 15-story tower, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is now a boutique hotel, contemporary art museum and gathering place.

Our design for 21c Lexington references the sophistication of old clubhouses and the saturated colors of the bluegrass landscape. We restored the former banking hall as the hub of activity by revealing its original grand proportions and repurposing the space as the vibrant Lockbox restaurant, bar and lounge. Rich colors in the 88 guest rooms reference the surrounding city and country, framed by the windows of McKim, Mead & White’s classically proportioned design.
