Brown University Celebrates Topping Off of the Danoff Life Sciences Laboratories

August 27, 2025

On August 20th, Brown University celebrated the topping off of the William A. and Ami Kuan Danoff Life Sciences Laboratories, a seven-story, 300,000-square-foot facility in Providence’s Jewelry District.

Designed by TenBerke and Ballinger, the Danoff Laboratories will be Rhode Island’s largest academic research building when complete in 2027. The facility will feature state-of-the-art labs, public education space, and clinical research facilities. The project underscores Brown’s growing role in revitalizing the Jewelry District and expanding biomedical research capacity in the region.

“Designing a world-class research facility here has meant making a building that contributes to city-making, to the public life and fabric of the Jewelry district, and making a great place for research and collaboration. We are thrilled to celebrate this exciting milestone with Brown University and all our collaborators.”

-Noah Biklen, Senior Principal
